Caught!

Uh-oh!

You caught me!

Yes, it turns out the baby who refused rice cereal and pureed baby food...

...is happy to eat hummus, Ethiopan food, Indian food, you name it!

Mt. Vernon

Hey, have you guys heard of George Washington?

Okay, okay, well, I hadn't.

Until last month when we went to his estate, Mt. Vernon. Here's Zula meeting the Washington family.

There's the Washingtons' mansion in the background. Meme, Grandpa and Grandma came with us.

Kind of nice to have the river in your front yard, isn't it?

Zula and Gideon got to play with some 18th century toys.

This lady taught them how to roll the hoops on the lawn.

They got pretty good at it!

Thanks, George and Martha!

Big Meadows

In May I went on my first camping trip...

The first day we hiked in the Blue Ridge.

Gid and our friend Julia found a nice spot to play, at the top of the world.

Julia brought along her parents, Kate and Mike.

Shortly after this trip they moved back to New York. We really miss them!

We kids got to spend lots of quality time with Daddy.

At the camp site, the big kids practiced gymnastics. See me supervising in the corner?

We found a lot of ways to entertain ourselves.

And that night we had a campfire!

The next day, it was time for the main attraction: the Big Meadow...

...where we went for a nice hike.

How come Mommy and Daddy always end up carrying everybody?

Goodbye, beautiful Blue Ridge. We'll see you soon!
