Trip to Switzerland, part 6: Passover Seder

And then it was time for the most important event, the reason we all went to Switzerland: the Passover seder!

It was a lot of fun to take part in it with my cousins.

Uncle Ben led the seder this year,

and introduced us to some new things, like an orange on the seder plate.

Some of us took it very seriously.

As always, there was lively debate.

It was Ari Zev's first time at the seder!

I think he was at times confused.

Uncle Ben, Grandma, Esther and Aviva knocked themsleves out making the seder meal, which included options for vegetarians, ethical-pescatarians, gluten-and-cow-milk-free eaters and those who prefer meat and not too many vegetables!

We kids took some important breaks to play outside...

...and enjoy the view.

...and the sunset.

Then it was time to let Elijah in

and watch him drink from his special cup.

Happy Passover, everybody!

Trip to Switzerland, part 5: Monte Bre

What's that headed up the mountain? The funicular, to take us to the top of Monte Bre!

I could get used to this.

I think Zula likes it, too.

It's especially cool when you pass another funicular.

Or go through a tunnel.

Or through a forest!

I think Daddy and Zev liked it, too.

And what's at the top, you ask? Check out the view!

Paths through the forest...

..with beautiful wildflowers...

...leading to picturesque villages.

Back at the summit, we found a cafe, of course...

...where Esther and Grandpa were already enjoying a coffee...

...and another perfect cappucino awaited Mommy.

Cioccolata calda is serious business in Switzerland -- you have to add the sugar yourself.

Don't worry, Zev, I'll drink yours.

Back in Albonago, I showed Noah and Grandpa the secret stairway to our house.

That passed beautiful hidden doorways along the way.

More to come!
