Grandma's Birthday at Dumbarton Oaks
Hey everybody! April 23 was, of course, Grandma's birthday.
We celebrated with first a party at our house (which I slept through)...
...(note the cake Mommy made to Grandma's specifications)...
Fun was had by all!
Then it was off to Dumbarton Oaks,
where there's a big house
beautiful gardens
and lots of fountains to play in.
The big kids played hide-and-seek
and ran races.
I worked on sitting up.
Daddy and I had a meeting of the minds.
I explained lots of things to him.
and then I went back to thinking about stuff.
Later, Grandma and I chatted.
We looked at the map together.
There was so much left to do and see!
Pan told us to go to start by going that way.
There were flowers to smell,
magical doors to walk through
and ancient tree roots to walk over.
There were paths to follow --
Don't forget to look up!
You never know what you might be missing.
There were cool sculptures to examine
and, of course, headstands to perform.
Finally, Zula helped me practice standing and walking.
She promises it will get easier!
